This historic home was the Customs House in the 1600’s where the people who crossed the border between the Papal State and the Grand Duchy of Tuscany (a since-passed Italian monarchy) would come in search of rest.
The charm of this historic home, so rich in legends, has been carefully restored and is the destination for those seeking an exclusive place, tastefully furnished, characterized by hospitality and genuine Tuscan organic flavor.

We are certified organic and cultivate spirulina, saffron, Stevia, fruits, and vegetables following the organic synergistic and biodynamic method. Since 2015, we have cultivated 1 hectare of the truffle Tuber Brumale.

We take part in a project of the Tuscany Region of Agriculture Social, providing disabled peoples an opportunity for social integration within our family and the world of work.

100% of the energy used comes from renewable sources. All lights are LED to encourage energy savings. The nighttime lighting of the house is oriented towards the ground so as not to cause light pollution. The nights are covered by blankets of stars and the sky comes to the horizon. This is a beautiful and unique place to admire the Milky Way and many constellations.

Heating, such as the hot water in the showers, is provided by solar panels, a fireplace, and a condensing boiler. Rainwater is used for agricultural irrigation.

The breakfast, like all the dishes of our restaurant, are made with organic goods from farms in the area.

The garden, the property, and each room create unique environments through objects, colors and communicative artifacts displayed in rotation by artists from around the world. “In Bed with Art,” a new concept of art exhibition and the result of recycling objects, is open to all and experienced in the relaxation of a holiday.

The Art of Recycling is the outdoor contemporary art museum waiting for you at Sant'Egle with sculptures made from found objects during the cleaning of forests and illegal dumping.

Throughout the farm there are mangers, natural and artificial nests, to help in times of difficulty for small winter birds and during the summer for migratory birds. While sitting in the pool, it is easy to enjoy bird watching.

A pond filled with aquatic plants is the home of many dragonflies, aquatic insects, frogs and reptiles that help us in the proper balance of the food web, pollination, and biodiversity conservation.

Our many flowered areas are home many species of caterpillars and later their butterflies.

We have available 4 suites and 2 luxury tent in glamping area, all with private bath and entrance.

All guests have access to a porch furnished with comfortable sofas and pillows, a garden with an olive tree under which there are tables, chairs, a chaise longue, hammocks, and a gazebo to enjoy exquisite moments of relaxation, and a straw theater where during the summer you can watch movies under the stars as well as live shows of various kinds.

Hot Tub and Bio Pool with salt water await you in the summer months.
